"The Racer"

So I have a three year old son who we are finding out to be extremely coordinated. He's always seemed to even think a little differently.....i remember one specific moment,, when he was 15months old,,and watching him move one of my very heavy dining room table chairs into my bedroom.......he was going to use it to get onto my bed....there was a sheet on the floor in his path...and when he got to it.....he quietly, stopped and moved it out of the way and continued to move the chair.........most kids would keep trying to move the chair anyway,,and eventually get frustrated and begin to cry..............anyways,, last spring when warnock was two, david took him to a motorcross race in jefferson texas,, and he got to meet a world champion and some other big names,,and got their autographs.....he was soo into wanting to ride the motorcycles...and one the guys told him, that first he had to learn to ride his bike without training wheels............a few months after that my two year old determined little boy was riding his bike without training wheels and begging for a motorcycle..........so in august for his birthday, my dad sent him a "razor" motorcycle........but he wasn't quite tall enough for it yet......but at the beginning of this month, david decided to let him have a try at it........the kid fell only one time in almost two hours of riding it.......crazy.........."pop" got warnock some knee pads and some cones for christmas and he's had a blast riding around the cones...........the motorcycle he's riding now is comparable to a little 50 that kids start out on for racing.......so it looks like that's where we are headed....... we've talked to another mother, and she said her son was the same age when he learned to ride one..............i'm just so impressed by this kid,, i had to blog this and a short video.......

"Cupcake Swirl"

I had the opportunity to make a special first birthday outfit for a dear customer of mine......the little girl's name is Sophie Blair......adorable.......Her mom wanted cupcakes and picked this fabric....and i had the turquoise corduroy to go with it....i think it's just precious....!!

"The Nutcracker, Rudolph, and Beards"

I keep saying i'm going to post new pics of the kids, so here they are.......first, are pics of emma grace before i took her to see the Nutcracker ballet this year.....they show it every other year,,,this was her second time to get to go.....and she was just as excited as the last time...i have to share with u all what she said...when the arabian dancer came out, of course, dressed in "jasmine" if u will type outfit,,,emma grace very loudly said over the music,,,"That girl needs to put more clothes on"...my eyes got huge, i know they did...at first i was a little embarrased,, but come on,, it's the truth...i've trained her welll...lol.....at least she didn't sing every song this year...lol.....she loves it all!.....then are some random pics of the kids all watching Rudolph in the hallway......our hallway is like a little room....so we put an entertainment center in there for the kids to watch tv.....they miss their playroom in our other house,, so this is second best!......katie is such a ham.....i tell her to say cheese and she poses in her best grin for me until i take a picture of her now...lol......she's hilarious....and the last pic of of me and david...he's grown a beard..lol....the kids say they don't like it..lol.....anyways, here u go......enjoy.....

"Chocolate Kleo, Zebra, and Turtles"

I sent out this order today.....and wanted to blog it....a sorority sister of mine ordered these two little dresses for her niece, annabell......what a sweet name!!....the first dress is out of a pattern called Chocolate Kleo,,,it has an elastic neckline for easy on, easy off....and yellow chenille sleeves.......the second dress is the same zebra i've done a lot of...with a red chenille "A" sewn on it.... and i lined it with a white fabric patterned with black polka dots.....and since little Annabell is a delta zeta legacy, i had to make her a custom turtle shirt.......i'm sure she will wear it well!!!.....thanks, natalie

"Parades, Buffets, and The Double-Take"

I so had to make time to get this picture up for u all to see.....it's hilarious.....
last thurs was our christmas parade here in little ole magnolia,,,or as some refer to it "magnowhere".....we can watch the parade almost from our backyard,,,,and it ends at the university, which is also close to our house.....so david took emma grace and warnock to watch,, while i stayed inside with katie mae,,, since it was VERY cold that evening......i was excited to find out that santa was going to be at the university after the parade for free pics!....i cannot stand to pay the ridiculous price of 20.00 for a mall santa pic.....it drives me crazy!!!....but i always end up forking over the money because every year i display all the years past santa pics as part of my christmas decor......it's very cute to look at all the faces in the pics....
anyways,, needless to say i was def going to take full advantage of the FREE santa pic this year.....so i dressed the girls in some red and green and warnock matched in his red hat and camo coveralls...lol....good enough for me......
after the parade we went to the university where we had a great buffet dinner with all the trimmings,,,and headed down to see santa.....the kids played while we stood in line...and katie right along with them.........when it was our turn , emma grace and warnock ran up to santa and hugged him and warnock climbed up in his lap.....so i took katie up there and set her on the other side of his lap and started to back away......that's when it happened.....she did it....the famous "double-take".....if u've ever seen it,,, u know what i'm talking about.......she had no idea who was holding her,, she'd just realized i wasn't.....so she looked up to see who had her,,,and then again.......and then the horror filled her sweet little face...she tried to get out of his lap and away......poor thing.....i was surprised really......eg and w have never cried or been afraid of santa or the easter bunny, or anything else.......so i didn't expect katie mae to be........shame on me.......
i told the photographer to snap one quick...just so i could have one.....i'm glad i did...it's in a frame with all the rest now.......and i know that we're all going to get a laugh out of this pic for years to come.......

"More Chirstmas sets"

I mailed out some orders today.....and one lady came by to pick her order up......she brought her girls with her and i couldn't resist the opportunity to get some pics.....one of her girls loved taking pics, but the other wanted nothing to do with it...so we put her outfit on emma grace......emma grace is wearing the candy cane skirt and the white shirt with the "C"....the "C" stands for chloye......and the other little girl is Ally.....and she's wearing her own new gingerbread skirt set.......the mother decided that she wanted the monogrammed shirts in red and white so they could wear them for Valentine's day with a different cloud dust skirt.....great idea!!!!!

"Boy Stuff"

I got to do another bag this week.. it's for a sweet little baby boy...his grandmother asked for a "church" bag.....i went with more choc brown corduroy....it's been really popular this year,,,added some stripe fabric from my amy butler stash....and a pretty blue initial on the front...the lining is a green with white polka dots pattern.........people have been asking where if i do my own monogramming......the answer is "no".....i don't have a machine that does that....i use "Story's" here in town.....they are so good and very good about helping me meet all my deadlines.......if u need a monogrammer around here,, i highly recommend them!!.....

"Minky Giraffe Diaper Bag"

Here's a bag i did for a group of people here in town to give as a baby gift......it's so plush!...choc brown corduroy mixed with soft brown and pink giraffe minky chenille....it's not that fun to work with,, but it sure is pretty!!.....there's a big pocket on the outside,, it's hard to see,,,,,we couldn't monogram it because the mommy to be is not letting the name out of the bag yet......but i'm going to have her initials on the front pocket in baby pink script......the changing pad is out of a pink and brown paisley that matches the lining of the bag......and tied together with a great big pink satin bow!.....of all the colors i work with,,,,i still love to use different pinks and browns!!!

"Bragging Rights"

Isn't this new handout wonderful!!....i just had to post a pic of it and the new Cloud Dust logo to share with u all.....and i just have to brag on my friend, Leigh Finney, who created them......she's obviously a well respected graphic designer in the dallas area......she does lots of freelance work and if u need anything done, she's ur gal...........i'm just so excited over all the work she's done for me,,and the new things she's working on now.......i can't wait to see the Cloud Dust brochure she's putting together for me.....i'm sure i'll be amazed at what she comes up with.....!!
